Over 305 ETH has now been donated to animal welfare causes through the combined efforts of @VitalikButerin and our community. The first withdrawal was 200 ETH (approximately $500,000 at the time), and now another 105 ETH (approximately $190,000) has been withdrawn through @everydotorg and @EffectvAltruism funds. Everything is fully transparent on-chain. Every donation, every transaction, and every withdrawal can be verified by anyone. Yet we are still eagerly waiting to learn which organizations will benefit, how the impact will be measured, and how the distribution process is being carried out. We have reached out through multiple channels, including emails, forums, and social media. We have also asked @Lewis_Bollard , a member of the Effective Altruism community and someone familiar with the EA Funds ecosystem, for assistance in helping us better understand the process and obtain information about how these funds are being allocated and used. We remain hopeful for updates from the teams involved and for public communication that could inspire even more people to support this initiative. Starting June 10, ETH will become the default payment method for all newly approved grants. 🦄 This brings our grant-making closer to the Ethereum ecosystem we support. This change applies to new applications submitted on or after June 10.

Recently, we once again observed on-chain activity showing that the foundation has withdrawn an additional 104 ETH, with an estimated value of approximately $200,000 at current prices. This is not an isolated occurrence. Over the past period, funds have continued to be moved, yet at the same time, a fundamental question remains unanswered: Have these donations been officially received and acknowledged? How are they being allocated? Is there any transparent mechanism for reporting their usage? Our repeated inquiries are not driven by doubt in the mission itself, but by a basic principle of responsibility and trust. Our community spans over 100 countries with more than 2,000 members, who came together in a short period of time in response to a shared call. Every contribution represents not just a number, but real trust, expectation, and action. As the total contributions grow and on-chain data continues to show fund movements without communication, this imbalance is gradually eroding confidence within the community. Transparency is not an additional request — it is the foundation of any initiative involving public donations. Communication is not a burden — it is the most direct way to sustain trust. We understand that large organizations may face complex processes and delayed responses. We also recognize that coordinating resources on a global scale is not easy. However, precisely for this reason, even the simplest acknowledgment or basic clarification would make a meaningful difference.
