April is Autism Awareness Month. Here are some fun facts as we take on the month of April: -Autism appears in children by age 2 or 3 -ASD is 4 times more common in boys than girls -1 in 44 children are diagnosed with ASD

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Here are some fun facts to think about as we take the month of March head on: -People ages 45-75 should get regular screening for prevention. -Reduce your risk factors by eating healthy, exercising & limiting alcohol use.

January is National Glaucoma Awareness Month, an important time to spread the word about this sight-stealing disease. -Glaucoma is a group of eye diseases that gradually steal sight without warning. Although the most common forms primarily affect the middle-aged and the elderly.

The month of December is AIDS Awareness Month. -HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, is one of the world’s most serious public health challenges. -There were approximately 36.9 million people worldwide living with HIV/AIDS in 2017.

The month of November is known as Alzheimer's Awareness Month! Did you know: -More than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's. -Almost two-thirds of Americans with Alzheimer's are women. -1 in 3 seniors dies with Alzheimer's or another dementia.

Did you this week is National Health Education Week ! -National Health Education Week is focused on increasing national awareness on major public health issues and promoting a better understanding of the role of health education.

Colorectal cancer screening saves lives. In many cases, a screening can prevent colorectal cancer by finding and removing polyps before they turn into cancer. Screening also helps find colorectal cancer at an early stage, when treatment is most effective.

90% of colorectal cancer cases appear in men and women 50 years old or older, and the risk for developing this cancer increases with age. Yet, like most disease trends, this isn’t absolute – younger people can get colorectal cancer too.

Did you know that colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer in the United States and the second leading cause of death from cancer. It is the most preventable but least prevented cancer.
