It's unlike any former gov in Nigeria.... That's humility.... But what I don't understand is the latest trend of former govs going to the Senate... I watch parliamentary proceedings of The UK and US... The chamber is fill to the brim... That of Nigeria is an eyesore... Senate or Rep plenary is so scanty... With many unconcern to issues being debated... Many of these absentee legislators are now in their constituencies fighting to go back... Legislating is a serious business but many of the persons who find themselves their see it as an avenue to be merely relevant... In distributing Keke, appointment and juicy oversight duties... They ought to be the gatekeepers to our treasury... But under their nose Nigeria wealth develop wings... They ought to strengthen our institutions.... Ayade merely wanted to join the trend of making the national assembly a political retirement home for ex govs.... Though he was clearly beaten by same opponent in 2023... I believe the president should have given him the chance to compete.... That is democracy... The right to chose must never be in the hands of few ... The consensus arrangements have been grossly abused by the govs across Nigeria... That is not democracy.... I love Mr President.... But I think The APC must be built to a stage where only direct primaries that no powerful force can forcefully influence will be the only option... The APC may get away with it in 2027 because of Mr President.... But in 2031 it would affect the fortune of APC.... Chinese type of democracy can't work in Nigeria.. The next four years must be used to build APC that can conduct a free and fair direct primaries.. Where you don't need to know the gov to be in position of power.... The consensus arrangements may have worked in Lagos but it won't work nationwide.... It would even crumble in Lagos when Mr President is no longer around...

President Bola Tinubu has never defected from one political party to another throughout his career. He was first elected a Senator under the old Social Democratic Party (SDP), which General Sani Abacha proscribed in 1993. In 1999, he was elected Governor under the defunct Alliance for Democracy (AD). He later founded the Action Congress (AC), which was rechristened as the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) after merging with several smaller parties. In 2013, the ACN merged with the ANPP, CPC, and a faction of APGA and DPP to form the All Progressives Congress (APC). Tinubu is a builder, not a political nomad.
