@Birchington5184 Yes - transitional relief caps the increase in cash terms, ie after all reliefs. It is all very complicated and desperately needs a set of neat examples to help small businesses (and journalists!)

There's a lot of confusion at the moment about business rates, not helped by the answer being spread across six different Budget documents. The short version: no small business will see an increase of more than 15% next year. The long version:

@MentalHealthCop The thing that continues to flummox me is that in 53% of incidents where Police conveyed the reason given is ‘not known’. Meanwhile ambulance performance to the S136 incidents they *are* asked to attend continues to hold steady at around 30 minutes mean (nationally).

Officers are conveying people more often than paramedics and a lot of that is just ambulance capacity; along with officers simply not requesting assistance. Some simple things need doing here to fix problems, but some of this is intractable stuff for the Government. 4/4
