@DautanDaniel Ha! So true. It has been fun but humbling to “discover” all these supraspinal nuclei that really were characterized so long ago. We tried to point to the early work throughout the paper. @FreglisPlethon is amazing at that, he has read so much.

@DautanDaniel Yes, exactly! Honestly the PPN wasn’t on my radar until it popped out of the locomotion / sparing correlation analysis in our study. Looks like you were a step ahead 👍

@brettjhilton Thanks! This project was fun and I'm excited to develop it more. File sizes aren't terrible, to give you an idea we group each brain's inputs and outputs in a folder and those total about 50-70GB each. But multiply by ~100 brains and it does add up...

I can’t emphasize enough how great @brain_globe is, both the tools themselves and the open science in action.

I believe these brain-wide data are a must-have to interpret behavior and to predict the translational prospects of treatments for more diverse functions. But you decide! Check out the preprint and website and let us know what you think.

But now with bright viral label, tissue clearing, automated cell detection, and digital registration, it is practical – I emphasize practical – to see and measure all supraspinal populations in one shot, in replicate animals after injury and treatment.
