Absolutely atrocious the TOP TWO games I’ve actually played competitively at some point are filed with cheaters now. If you cheat in games I hope you find the love of your life and then live together till you’re 65 and then find out they cheated on you when you were in your 20s.

@tachyon1023 @hiraethrl @thebigwade Take shroud for example. Shroud is good at every FPS game he plays and shoots to the high ranks almost immediately in every game he plays. Now take shroud and put him on RL for the first time it will still take him the average hours to get to SSL if not longer or slightly shorter

@Blast_1300 @hiraethrl @thebigwade That doesn’t really answer the question. In your example, if you flip FPS and RL, the logic breaks. At that point difficulty is just relative to player background, not an objective property of the game.

as someone whose been masters in ow and consistently gc2-3 in rl, both games are hard, require their own types of game senses, and shouldn't even be compared bc they are not similar in any way really lol.
imo, rl is hard to get into bc it's not transferable , ow is the opposite

@tachyon1023 @hiraethrl @thebigwade Not necessarily “skill floor” however it’s the fact that due to transferable mechanics. Basically without going into a long rant TLDR: if I am mechanically good at FPS games I can focus on game sense things which will make me climb ranks much faster. Rather than mechs.

If the core argument is that no transferable mechanics=most difficult, then it implies asinine mechanics becomes the difficulty benchmark. If rl and ow swapped situations would you still agree?
