A driver who killed a family of four, including two babies, at a San Francisco bus stop was sentenced to probation. Mary Fong Lau (seen here walking through the courthouse today) dodged jail and prison time. Lau, 80, was speeding when her Mercedes SUV plowed into a West Portal bus stop in 2024, investigators said. A family was waiting to catch the bus for a trip to the zoo. The crash killed Diego Cardoso de Oliveira, his wife, Matilde Pinto, and their two babies. people are trying to argue with this and it’s literally the truth. a kilogram of beef requires over 15,000 litres of water to produce. a vegan who uses chatgpt every day is living a more sustainable lifestyle than someone who regularly eats beef while boycotting AI.

My current impression is that the person query/etc water usage is basically moot and doesn't matter (esp relative to farming), but that the actual total emission and construction effect combined with data enter placement in marginalized coms is significant and problematic
