Borderlands Arts & Culture

Borderlands is a major programme of creative growth in Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland which is focusing on significantly increasing the number of local people taking part in cultural activities as well as embedding culture as a part of the area’s approach to health.

Chris and Ania were at the @Borderlands_CPP Community Collaborators event in #Middlesbrough today. Their sessions were on introducing volunteers and groups to Borderlands and what they do to support Middlesbrough to be a more creative and inclusive community. 1/2

Our organisation lead, Shahda, with @BokBok_Books Rumana, @RubyandBlueMade , and Mosum Bangladeshi Women’s Group. The group met at @durham_uni Oriental Museum to discuss ideas for Miki and Rumana’s art project, a banner celebrating #Bengali culture 🇧🇩. #northeastart

A lovely turn out for the opening of All Year Round The Flower Patch CIC Wellbeing Garden. Fantastic to see all those involved, especially Nicky Morgan and her students on the Borderlands Creative People & Places commissioned Garden Design course.

The Borderlands team spent a wonderful few hours celebrating @whippetupcic 6th birthday this afternoon. We were treated to the last performance of ' For the People by the People' We worked with Whippet Up on our Health and Well being Pop Ups and what a great turn out today!

The Creative End of Lives Project aims to provide 100 local individuals with the opportunity to participate in one of ten 4-week creative programs. This project is open to adults (18+) in the local community who are either terminally ill or receiving end-of-life care
