@xXMaddiMaladyXx @sfsn2000 same thing goes for saying "sex is a social construct", even if you take the word for it all, the organs & traits will STILL exist, and we'll STILL be dysphoric & want to transition bc the organs & sexed traits still exist.
English

@xXMaddiMaladyXx @sfsn2000 & yet our brains still signal incongruence w our natal-bodied sex & congruence w the sex opposite to what our natal genitalia suggests, even if we take the colours for it, the thing within itself will still exist.
English

@xXMaddiMaladyXx @sfsn2000 gender dysphoria ≠ sex dysphoria, the two are not the same, as gender is socially constructed, and not all trans women were GNC as children.
psycho-sexual inversion shouldn't be outdated, as it represents mine & many others' experiences perfectly.
English

@boymodercherry @sfsn2000 ...why? like it's not a medical term, and i think it's useless as one because you can just say e.g. "trans women with early-onset gender dysphoria" or "with GNC behaviour observed in childhood", these terms like psycho-sexual inversion are outdated for a reason
English

@xXMaddiMaladyXx @sfsn2000 then what do you think causes one to be trans?
English

@boymodercherry @sfsn2000 ok well that's where i have a problem, because i do not believe in binary notions of "brain sex" and it's typically transmedicalists or self-identified HBS ppl who push this reactionary idea
English

@xXMaddiMaladyXx @sfsn2000 & that needs to stop, transsexual within itself is defined as whole-body incongruence & dysphoria, and the desire to change sex & live as the sex opposite to what natal genitalia suggests after changing sex. so those that don't fit the description already aren't.
English

@boymodercherry @sfsn2000 yeah ik that, but imo the HBS label (as opposed to transsexuality which is more neutral) is overwhelmingly used for political purposes to position "trutrans" ppl against fakers. so it results in an exclusionary culture where ppl compete socially to be the most valid/deserving
English

@sfsn2000 @xXMaddiMaladyXx HBS is used by type VI's & is mainly used to refer to type VI's, those w psycho-sexual inversion, it's part of transsexualism but not the only type of transsexualism.
it can easily be used as an alternative for transsexualism for those of us VI's who want to use it.
English

@boymodercherry @xXMaddiMaladyXx Again, it's still a bit odd when used in place of transsexual, if I had some kind of disease of which the name was 'itchy skin syndrome' and discovered a name for it is Barry Jones Smith Syndrome why would I use that except to sound pompous?
English

@xXMaddiMaladyXx @sfsn2000 and it needs to be used in the medical literature for those w psycho-sexual inversion, that's what im trying to say.
HBS is PART OF transsexualism.
English

@boymodercherry @sfsn2000 it's not even a term used in medical literature tho (definitely not in modern science), it was afaik made up by Charlotte Goiar as an alternate label for transsexuality.

@sfsn2000 @xXMaddiMaladyXx idk, marzi uses it, courtney uses it, simon uses it, david uses it, lilah & erika use it, alyssa uses it, i don't find them annoying tbh.
HBS is the classical type VI experience in the HBS scale, but some V's also use it, i don't think it's useless bc it's technically a medical
