The US House of Representatives passed a bill to make Daylight Saving Time permanent year-round. If this become law our local sunrise will move from 7:38 to 8:38 am, and sunset from 5:32 to 6:32 pm on the Winter Solstice, the shortest daylight day of the year.

I'm watching this area near the Georgia coast back into the NE Gulf for possible tropical development late this weekend or early next week. No need to be too concerned or change any plans at this point, just an early heads up. The overall chance of this forming is low, 20%.

Today's pollen count is only 2, but the mold spores are extremely high...no surprise with our wet weather pattern.

Scattered showers and storms continue through the weekend, but the mild temperatures will not. We're headed back into the 90s.

Locally heavy downpours may lead to some standing water or roads briefly, the overall flood threat for us is very low. I'm tracking the storms live on Channel 2.

Look how the temperatures this week compare to last year at this time! Clouds, rain, and an east wind will hold us down into the 80s.

Some of the heaviest downpours may cause localized flooding but the overall flood risk is low. I'll be tracking the storms live on Channel 2.

Rain showers have stabilized the atmosphere and the severe storm threat is very low now. The risk area is down in coastal Georgia and Florida.

Strong to severe storms possible today. Damaging wind gusts are the main threat, especially east. A cloudy sky and numerous showers and storms this afternoon-evening across our entire area will keep our temperatures down in the mid 80s. I'll be tracking the storms live on Ch 2.
