He spent 15 years on Alabama’s staff through four (!) different head coaches before getting his shot as a head coach.
Three years later, he claims the first C-USA title in Kennesaw State history.

This is an aside at this point but Aubs believing the “call God” celebration is used as a call to prayer is hilarious. “Call God” was started by Antonio Brown to say “call God because He’s the only one that can save you now.” It’s mocking an opponent for not being able to guard

@Amy_Lissa This is the equivalent of me using the “too little” celebration after scoring on someone and then saying “well I was just trying to show how Christ humbled Himself and was brought low for my sake.” (Which is true, and praise God).
It’s just not why they actually use that celly

This is what “Call God” means. I’ve seen so many say “God doesn’t care who wins a basketball game.” It isn’t about asking God to win. It’s about how He’s there through every little thing in life and all you have to do is call on Him. In defeat, this team is still calling God!

And Mark Sears using the celebration after beating Auburn was not “mocking God.” It was mocking Auburn’s celebration and saying they couldn’t guard him.

That said, it’s awesome to see how guys on Auburn’s team have been growing in their faith and it’s cool to see them pray after games - both wins and losses. I am in no way denigrating that.
But to pretend that celebration is some pious move is so absurd haha

It’s rare to see your high school coach become a SEC head coach. Been so cool to be part of his journey & am grateful for everything he’s done for me over the years.
Bucky will win big at A&M like he’s won big everywhere he’s been.
