Bromley Borough Lib Dems

We were delighted to attend the Bromley 'Experts by Experience' hustings to see how we can better support the deaf and disabled people in our community. Allan Tweddle represented the Lib Dems. The Tories and Reform UK didn’t even show up, speaking volumes about their priorities.

The Friends of Bromley Town Parks have organised a Community Fund Day at Church House Gardens on Saturday (18th April) from 11am until 3pm. The event is free and will feature live music, an art & craft area, as well as a wellbeing and mindfulness area.

Excellent weekend out on the doors - very little Conservative support - folk backing us as they can see the difference Lib Dem Cllrs have made. No one’s buying the claim they need to vote Tory to keep Reform out, especially when Tory Cllrs have already defected to Reform.

The London Mayor has announced £30m will go to funding at least one late-night youth club in every London borough. A Lib Dem spokesperson has said while the programme is a "welcome first step", "less than £1m per youth centre isn't enough". tinyurl.com/mr2n58nm

Station Rd Bromley will be closed from tomorrow (1 April) for up to 4 weeks while new drainage is installed. The one way system at Station Rd (between Glebe Rd and Mitchell Way) will be suspended as well as the no entry at the junction of Mitchell Way / Station Rd

Sad to see Bromley's 24-hour police counter closed on 28 February. Sadiq Khan broke his promise every borough would keep a 24-hour police station. Cllr Graeme Casey said the idea of someone fleeing to the station at night and finding it was closed was "frightening".

It's good to see that work has started on the pedestrian crossing on Homesdale Road; we hope that work will be completed by Easter. Meanwhile traffic is controlled by temporary traffic lights along Homesdale Road, and Godwin Road is closed at the junction with Homesdale Road.

Bromley Council will miss its target of completing more than 90% of 10-day highway maintence jobs in time, figures have shown. The actual or projected statistic for 2025/2026 is 49%. It will also miss its target of completing 35-day jobs on time (60% compared to higher than 90%).
