Ana Espinal was born and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She currently lives and works in the Bronx, NY. Through self-portrait photography, she reflects on the intersection of femininity, identity, beauty standards, and emotional well-being.

Gladys is a local artist with roots that run deep in the Bronx. She was born and bred in the Bronx. Her style can be described as funny, quirky and sarcastic, but also sweet and whimsical. Her pieces invite both a chuckle and a moment of thoughtful connection.

Through film, performance, & dialogue, the culminating event explored the Harlem River as a living system shaped by history, memory, and community. Grounded in months of engagement along the river, the work shows how art and storytelling can deepen connections to local waterways.

BCA is proud to have partnered with the NY-NJ Harbor & Estuary Program on their first ever Harlem River Artist Residency. Through this unique partnership, Bronx artist Alethea Pace conducted a year-long performance residency based on the history and story of the Harlem River.

The 2026 Community Engagement Grant (CEG) grantees have been announced! 🎉 BCA is thrilled to celebrate this year’s incredible cohort of Bronx-based artists, collectives, and organizations who continue to shape, uplift, and energize our borough through their creative work.

The People’s Money — the CEC’s citywide participatory budgeting process — is in its voting phase. From now through 6/21, all NYers age 11 & up can help decide how $4 million in city funds will be invested across the 5 boroughs. Voting is open regardless of citizenship status.
