On February 3, 2026, the Brown v. Board of Education National Historical Park will host "Women of Brown," an exhibit celebrating the 12 Black women in the landmark Brown v. Board court case. Curated by historian Donna Rae Pearson, this exhibit will be available until March 2026.

Juneteenth, celebrated on June 19th, marks the day in 1865 when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, were informed of their freedom—over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. This moment came when Union troops arrived and enforced the end of slavery.
