Sharon McMahon shared a profound truth from her commencement speech that you never got to hear at Utah Valley University. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the state of the world, but at the end of the day we are the architects of the future. Instead of dwelling on what we were handed, let’s focus on the craftsmanship of what we’re creating We don't have to agree on how we got here to agree on where we want to go. Let's choose to leave behind a world that is stronger, kinder, and more united than we found it. See her full speech here: bit.ly/4emNxn0

If you teach citizens that only one “side” can be right, we lose something far bigger than the argument. We lose each other. We need to rediscover our shared humanity and remember that we’re all in this together. Join our movement at @builders to remind our elected officials they were chosen by the people, for the people and that we need problems solved with solutions we can all stand behind. King Charles III reminded Congress that disagreement doesn’t erase shared responsibility. Even across differences, there’s a throughline: protecting people, defending democracy, and honoring those who serve at its edge. A simple idea, but one that feels increasingly worth repeating—unity not as agreement, but as commitment.

Today marks one year since the death of Pope Francis. “If our hearts are closed, if our hearts are made of stone, the stones find their way into our hands and we are ready to throw them.” He often reminded us that the path forward isn’t about labels or sides, but about seeing one another as “you”—and understanding ourselves as part of an “us.” A shift from judgment to connection, from distance to shared humanity. He didn’t speak about these ideas in the abstract. He lived them—crossing divides, reaching toward those on the margins, and choosing encounter over exclusion. Today, we remember a leader who called for compassion not just in belief, but in action.

There will always be forces we can’t see that try to divide us. It’s imperative that we stay vigilant, especially in a world where social media can be more divisive than ever, to ensure we are not turned against one another. Don’t let division win. #BeABuilder @BuildersMvt

Pope Leo XIV: “Do not use political categories to speak about faith.” He also describes peacemakers as people who build bridges instead of walls and choose dialogue over division. It’s a reminder to slow down the way we rush to sort everything into political boxes. Not everything we believe or value fits neatly into “left” or “right,” and when we force it to, the conversation often becomes smaller instead of more meaningful.

Social media and AI will be our downfall if we do not join forces to hold politicians and special interests accountable to the will of the people. Right now, an AI account under the name “Rabbi Goldman” is posting videos of a “rabbi” spreading misinformation and antisemitism, and he isn’t even real! The problem goes beyond one account or one issue. Hundreds of accounts keep popping up replicating the same scams. Social media companies have no incentive to use tech to detect these scams and reduce fraud because they were given immunity by the US government!!!! Social media platforms offer no meaningful ways to report harmful scams or detect and bring down fraudulent AI content in a systemic ways. There are tons of tech solutions - there is just no will! In the meantime, politicians are now in the Pocket of all these industry groups and don’t do their jobs to protect consumers and society! We need change. We need to come together as Citizens - as Citizen Builders - and compel elected representatives to follow the will of the people. Otherwise hate will spread, mistrust will spread, abuses of power will grow, and society will suffer. Join the Builders Movement today. Texas showed up... Primary elections decide which candidates voters will actually see on the November ballot—but turnout is often much lower. In 2024, fewer than 1 in 5 registered Texans (18%) voted in the primary. Just eight months later, about 3 in 5 showed up for the general election. That gap is exactly why we launched the “Turn Out or Roll Over” campaign ahead of the March 3, 2026 Texas primary with the help of @ZacharyLevi and @Rodriguez —to remind people that primaries shape the choices long before November. The response blew us away. Awareness of primaries jumped 317%, thousands of new people joined our community, and more Texans got engaged in the process. With the Texas runoff election on May 26 approaching, Texans can learn more about the campaign at builderstx.org And for our friends across the country: will you be showing up for your state’s primaries?

@NASASolarSystem Quick question, does Pluto still qualify as an acceptable answer? I know it's not a planet anymore but I want to believe. Asking for a friend....

These reactions are completely human. But when they take over our conversations, curiosity fades and real progress becomes harder to reach. @AdamMGrant suggests a different approach: think like a scientist. Hold your views with enough confidence to share them, but enough humility to revise them. Treat new information as something to explore, not something to defend against. If you want to dive deeper into these patterns and how they show up in our conversations, you can explore the full blog here: shorturl.at/kqLiG

3.) The Politician: The Politician may look like they’re listening. But their priority isn’t truth or winning—it’s approval. Ideas bend toward what the audience wants to hear.

Nobody likes being corrected. But how we respond when someone challenges us shapes the kind of conversations—and ultimately the kind of country—we build. In his book “Think Again”, organizational psychologist and Builders Movement Partner @AdamMGrant describes three roles people often fall into when their beliefs are questioned: the Preacher, the Prosecutor, and the Politician. 🧵⬇️
