The first time it happened, I didn’t panic. My phone lit up at exactly 3:17am, no notification sound, just the screen turning on by itself. A message was already open. “You shouldn’t have looked.” I don’t remember opening anything. I don’t remember downloading anything. But the message sat there like it had always been mine. I laughed it off. Screen glitch, maybe. Closed it. Slept. The next night, 3:17am again. Same glow. Same silence. Another message. “You’re slower than I expected.” This time, my chest tightened. I checked the sender...no number, no name. Just… blank. Like it wasn’t coming from anywhere. I didn’t reply. By the third night, I stayed awake. 3 :16… 3 :17… The screen came on. I watched it happen. No touch. No vibration. Just light bleeding into the room. A new message typed itself out. Letter by letter. “Good. You’re learning.” My hands felt cold, but I forced myself to type back. “Who is this?” The reply came instantly. “Turn around.” I froze. Slowly… I did. Nothing. Just my room. My door slightly open. Darkness sitting quietly where it always sits. I exhaled. Almost laughed. Then my phone buzzed for the first time. A picture came through. It was my room. From behind me. Fiction....
