@BevTchangMD @KevinH_PhD Agree on the confusion around FFM/LBM. 39% was calculated from Table S5. The % of total weight loss as lean mass is LM loss/(FM loss + LM loss), as for tirze. For brevity we used FFM in the Fig, including both LBM and FFM. The legend clarifies it’s LBM or FFM. Retatrutide is FFM.

I’m genuinely trying to get these numbers straight for myself since I think there is general confusion around FFM and LBM and I want to make sure I have it straight before educating others. Was your 39% calculated from wilding’s Table S5 and if so, what did you use as your denominator?

@BevTchangMD @KevinH_PhD Wilding: total LBM typically refers to the sum of LM in limbs, trunk, and head, excluding bone. Look: the reported FM loss (15.9kg) & LM loss (5.6kg) sum to 21.5kg, which aligns with a 21.3% WL from a baseline of 101.3kg (21.57kg). The 0.07kg gap is likely due to rounding

Look’s article reports lean mass (FFM-BMC) while Wilding’s supplement reported fat free mass. Calculations from their articles matches yours. But separately, Look’s fat mass loss (15.9 kg) plus lean mass loss (5.6 kg) adds up to 21.5 kg even though they reported total weight loss to be 21.3% (with baseline weight 100 kg). Is the 0.2 a rounding difference?

🎗️RISPETTO Usare un linguaggio “people-first” è importante. Parliamo di “persone con obesità”, non di “obesi”. Le persone non sono la loro malattia. La lotta allo #stigma comincia dalle parole #EndWeightStigma
