To strengthen domestic manufacturing and secure supply of critical inputs, BCD has been fully exempted on cobalt powder and waste, scrap of lithium-ion batteries, lead, zinc and 12 other critical minerals. To strengthen EV and mobile battery manufacturing, 35 additional capital goods for EV batteries and 28 for mobile phone batteries added to the BCD exemption list. Implemented vide Notification No. 11/2025 dated 01.02.2025. #BudgetForViksitBharat #PBC2026

Considering the long gestation period in shipbuilding, BCD exemption on raw materials, components and consumables for ship manufacture was extended for another 10 years. To provide relief to patients suffering from cancer, rare and chronic diseases, 36 lifesaving drugs were fully exempted from Basic Customs Duty and six added at concessional 5% duty. Bulk drugs for their manufacture also covered. (1/2) #BudgetForViksitBharat #PBC2026
