Paul Stephenson, the civil rights campaigner who led the Bristol bus boycott has died aged 87. He organised a boycott of the Bristol Omnibus Company which ended its policy of banning ethnic minorities from working on buses. RIP 🙏🏾

@patggould @Jontafkasi @DiabolicalSpuds There is British English but not a British accent because England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland speak very differently. And that's not including all the regional accents within each of those. Reveived Pronunciation is an English accent, not "British" (see point 1).

Everyone knows precisely what I'm talking about. Your entire country adopted a fake aristocratic accent because the nouveau riche of the industrial revolution thought it would distinguish them from the peasants. Thus, the British accent, yes that one, is a century younger than America.

Why the fuck do the English have like 25 different accents when all their major population areas are like a 15 minutes drive from each other .

@ChellaRamanan Yessss, Amerie was killing it back then. Touch is a decent album, too, just arrived a bit too late during R&B's slow post 2000s descent. 1 Thing remains one of my favourite modern boom-bap R&B drops though.
