The wait is over: State Street Bridge is back open! CDOT completed extensive structural repairs to the bridge and northern viaduct to keep this historic structure reliable for years to come. Take a look at some photos from throughout the project:

Heads up, Chicago! Repairs to a fiber optics line will require a full closure of the Kennedy Expressway (I-90/94) reversible express lanes from 10 p.m. Friday, March 20, until no later than 5 a.m. Monday, March 23.

Big changes are underway at State-Lake🚧 CDOT is leading a major rebuild of the 120-year-old CTA station, which will create a fully-accessible, modern rail hub. Crews have made great progress this winter, including removing the old station house & platform structural steel.

Major progress this winter on the Chicago–Halsted Bridge & Viaduct project! Crews recently reached a big milestone with the successful removal of the old Chicago Ave bridge superstructure over the Chicago River. Work also continues on rebuilding the nearly 60-year-old viaduct.

A historic detail returns to Logan Square! As part of our ongoing reconstruction project, crews installed 8 restored light fixtures around the Illinois Centennial Monument. These globe lights were part of the original design, helping restore the Square’s historic character.
