Obviously a lot of talk about the overtime of Bills vs Broncos. Here are my thoughts on all of the big rulings down the stretch: No Flag for PI on Denver I support the decision to not flag Denver on the fade route. Is there contact? Sure, but it’s a play on to me. Interception or Catch? The interception is a wild play, with a lot going on. Seeing it full speed, I thought it was an interception and would’ve ruled it that way if I was on the field. My perspective on it is that Cooks lost the ball as soon as his body hit the ground. In my opinion, if there was no defender near him and he lost the ball when he hit the ground, the ruling would’ve been incomplete. I would have liked to see the game stopped for a more formal review, with an announcement from the referee on exactly how they ruled. Pass Interference #1 on Bills I didn’t think this was a foul. It was, to me, the same play that happened the drive before with Denver and didn’t warrant a flag. Noting that on that play there was a flag for Roughing the Passer too, so Denver still would’ve got a first down. Pass Interference #2 on Bills Clearly correct and pass interference.

@GeneSteratore @WerderEdNFL I’m curious why the “what if the ball came out of the wasn’t a defender there” matters. That’s not what actually happened. He easily could have held onto the ball if there was no defender too.

@LA_Swiftness @mike_petriello Even guys that played from mid/late 2010s to now talk about how much more challenging the hitting environment has become. Literally yesterday had a 9 year MLB vet say "hitter's counts no longer exist" 2-0, 3-0? Every pitch, every shape is still on the table.

@mike_petriello We have to get more hitters that played from 2007 into the late 2010’s & early 2020’s to share experiences of the pitching dynamics across their careers.

Because former players are talking about this and getting it wrong again: Pitch velocity is tracked on a consistent basis 2008-pres., and the avg 4sm FB has gone from 91.9 to 94.5 in that time. It's not a tech change. It's reflecting the truth that more pitchers throw hard now.
