Recently, Action News 30 visited the CTE Construction Trades Program at Livingston High School to cover how their students are building redwood planters as a fundraiser to help cover travel expenses for this year’s Design Build Competition®. In addition, their students are hard at work constructing their competition structure, Action News 30 shared to help promote the CIEF Design Build Competition® in their surrounding area (Central Valley).

Day two of the Houston Design Build Competition® 🛠️ 113 Students have until 3PM today to finish their structures! Amazing progress has been seen between yesterday and today. NorCal Design Build Competition® schools are teaming up to donate their structures to non-profits, spreading goodwill across the region. But hold onto your hats because Carden School is taking it up a notch with a donation of a mobile shower unit!

READY. SET. BUILD! 🛠️ Houston kicks off the first day of the Design Build Competition® in Texas with 10 teams racing against the clock to build a 96Sqft structure in two days. Nick Hunter with Presenting Sponsor Chesmar Homes, Carmen Castro with Platinum Sponsor Lone Star College, and Dr. Lambert President of Lone Star College led the charge this morning as they gave the morning safety talk before everyone was off to the races!

Tomorrow we kick off the 2024 Design Build Competition® season...Houston Construction Students we are ready for you and can't wait to see what you create over the next two days!!

McCarthy Building Companies had the opportunity to visit Texas City – Industrial Trade Center. Students learned about Heat & Illness Safety Practices, Fall Protection/demonstration and were gifted branded hardhats and swag, which they'll use & rep during the comp. this week.

SOCAL teams are in the practice build phase of the Design Build Competition®! Each team is partnered with an industry partner as a team sponsor to build long-lasting relationships. Teams are beginning to practice building or fine-tuning their skills before the competition.
