When I’m mayor, LA will be a reliable partner to film productions. We’ll staff a real city film office, eliminate fees for smaller productions, simplify permitting, and get rid of ridiculous conditions that stall production.

If you call Film LA, the very first option is to report a production you think should be shut down for not having a permit. The third option is to try and get a permit. If you don't get your application in my 10am a week before the shoot, they will not process your application. Not 10:05, not 12pm. Must be in by 10am. When you speak to the person at Film LA, they truly sound like they don't even want you to shoot there. I hope whoever our next mayor is shuts down Film LA and makes it free and easy to get a permit. LA has the best crews, the best casts, the best weather. It shouldn't be cheaper and easier to fly to Oklahoma and shoot there than it is to shoot at home. It's time to bring filmmaking back to LA.

My 11p @Delta flight back to LA was delayed 13 hrs to the next afternoon. Gotta hand it to the gate agent. I'd have been sweating having to deliver that news to 200+ passengers, but she handled it like a pro. Guess I'm sleeping in this airport for the night. Adventure never stops
