City Hall will be closed on Monday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day. Due to the holiday, next week's West Side garbage pickup will be scheduled for Tuesday, May 26th and East Side garbage pickup will be scheduled for Wednesday, May 27th.

Our military tribute banners are up throughout the city and on display through Veterans Day! A special thank you to everyone who purchased a banner and to our DPW for hanging them.

The Rotary Club of Peekskill is holding a Chalk the Walk event this Saturday, May 16th, from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm at the Riverfront Green Park. Join to create sidewalk chalk art that spreads kindness, hope, and important conversations around mental health awareness.

Verizon is upgrading our channel encoder, which has currently resulted in it being down. The Verizon channel will be down for the rest of the day and will be back up by tomorrow, once the equipment update is complete and the encoder is fixed.

A great time was had at the Waters of Inspiration event on Saturday at the Riverfront and Depew Park! Attendees enjoyed a boat tour and a Depew Park tour that explored the history and various water-quality initiatives in the Peekskill watershed.

The City of Peekskill's cooling center policy will be in effect on Tuesday, May 19th from 11:00 am - 6:00 pm in the Neighborhood Center Dining Room with free WiFi for anyone seeking an air-conditioned environment.

Another bulk trash pickup is on the schedule! A reminder to all East Side residents that a bulk trash pickup is scheduled for this Wednesday, May 20th.

A free compost giveaway from Sustainable Materials Management will be available starting May 15th outside the Parks Maintenance Garage on Pomeroy Drive in Depew Park. The compost is for personal residential use only, and individuals must bring their own container and shovel.

Join the Captain Oliver C. Chase, Jr. American Legion Post 274 on Saturday, May 16th at 9:00 am at the Assumption Cemetery, Hillside Cemetery, and Old Van Cortlandtville Cemetery, and on Sunday, May 17th at 9:00 am at the 1st Hebrew Cemetery for its Flags In event.

The rain did not dampen the spirits at the Mother’s YAY! Market this past Saturday on Railroad Avenue! A special thank you to YAY Markets for organizing another great event featuring over 30 vendors, live music, raffles, and plenty of shopping throughout the day.
