Another fantastic day at Close House with our very own Attached Touring Professional, Lee Westwood. Lee was out and about around the estate, demonstrating some of his skills at the Academy. He also headed out onto the Colt course to play a few holes alongside other golfers out on the course. Thanks again, Lee, very much appreciated as always. 👏 @WestwoodLee

Alongside these achievements, we have also hosted the British Masters in 2017 and 2020 and welcomed the International Series England in 2023. These landmark moments have helped shape our story and elevate Close House onto the global stage of elite golf 📈 ⛳ As we celebrate this 15-year milestone, we would like to thank everyone who has been part of our journey so far. We’re delighted to announce Brian Watson as our Close House Hero for April ⭐ Brian has been part of the Close House family for over 11 years, starting with us in his early 70s and now, at 82! Absolutely nothing phases him! 💪 A familiar and friendly face in our Golf Services team, Brian is often the first to welcome golfers to the club, always with a smile. Alongside his day‑to‑day duties, he also dedicates a huge amount of time to supporting and encouraging our junior members, which makes an enormous difference to both them and the club as a whole. Brian truly embodies the spirit of Close House and is a fantastic example of commitment, kindness, and passion. A very well‑deserved congratulations, Brian, from everyone at Close House 👏

🌿🐎 Exciting update! We’re introducing a more sustainable approach to course maintenance by releasing a small group of wild horses to naturally manage the grounds. This eco-friendly method helps reduce machinery use and keep our courses naturally greener and healthier, while also staying true to the Close House brand, with our horse logo, statues and heritage of stabling horses on site in years gone by. When you’re out playing, please stay aware of your surroundings and give the horses plenty of space, especially when taking your shots. ⛳

Congratulations, David Storey! 👏 This month, we’re proud to celebrate David, our Close House Hero for March 🏆 David has been a Senior Greenkeeper with us for nearly eight years, and in that time, he’s become an invaluable part of the team. Known for his brilliant can‑do attitude, David is always the first to roll up his sleeves and volunteer for the less glamorous jobs that keep our courses looking world‑class. His positivity, reliability, and willingness to go above and beyond make a huge difference every single day.
