. “Thanks to BTS, the whole world knows Arirang” 🥹 Oh dear 😭😭😭 too much tears watching this post about a mom sharing she didn’t know Arirang has so much meaning until she watched BTS viral videos, and her late halmoni (grandma) used to sing it all the time to them. She shared a video of her daughter trying on a hanbok of her grandmother and her halmoni singing it all the time. I hope the boys see her post, the impact and reconnection they are making 🥹
Her caption:
Our Halmoni (Grandma) used to sing Arirang all the time. My cousin told us the song was trending because of bts and I finally watched the viral videos and now I'm a mess. It would have blown her mind to see full stadiums around the world singing it in unison, especially in Japan and the US.” 😭😭😭😭

A Korean adoptee sharing his experience watching BTS in Stanford 🥹 “I am crying editing this. To witness this performance live on both my birthday and during AAPI Heritage Month was life changing. As a Korean adoptee, I have such little connection to the country I am from. However, this performance helped me to feel a little closer to home. For me, and everyone else in the Korean diaspora, Arirang will always be our homecoming song. Happy AAPI Month to all”
