One hundred years, and the lovely thing about the 1926 Census is that I actually knew so many people on there, and so well. There’s Great-Granda; Gran and Granda; my great-aunts and great-uncles on both sides; a first cousin of my dad. What a lovely trip down Memory Lane!

So sad to hear that Desmond Morris has died, aged 98. This great Birmingham Surrealist, zoologist, author and broadcaster was also a friend who was a constant source of inspiration. Just last month, he said that art was keeping him alive. RIP.
