Given all of this hatred coming at us, we have to be very clear about the scope, the breadth, and the depth of the hate and contempt being directed toward Black people! But we’ve got to keep our priority on love — loving ourselves, loving Black people, and loving oppressed people — so we don’t get divided or consumed by these ugly forces coming at us! #TruthJusticeLove @kbla1580 @tavissmiley

No bullets, bombs, or drones can crush the best of the human spirit, no matter where you are or what part of the world you’re in! There is no way oppressed, hated, or terrorized people can ever be completely crushed or forgotten! We are here to remember them! But we are also here to say that no lies or forms of mendacity will ever break our spirits, paralyze us, or lead us to give in, cave in, or sell out—not because we are so good, but because we simply want to be decent human beings in the short time we have! That is why we raise our voices! We will forever be committed to a love for people who are wrestling and suffering, and to solidarity with those who are organizing—and nothing can turn us around! Nothing will slow us down! #TruthJusticeLove #ColumbiaUniversity

Prince had the courage to tell the truth about himself, about this society, and this world! He was a love warrior like John Coltrane and Nina Simone! He was willing to get in trouble, cut against the grain, fight the industry, keep the smile on his face, and keep the joy in his soul, and keep the love in his heart! And part of his legacy is that when you listen to his music, it's much more fresh than most music that was just released last year! It is as solid as a rock. It is new as foam! It is visionary, and at the same time, he had a sophisticated coolness about him!  #TruthJusticeLove @prince ☔️ @tavissmiley @kbla1580

Cornel West reflects on resisting political hatred, greed, and spectacle—describing Trump as an embodiment of those forces—while urging a response rooted in love, compassion, and moral discipline. Drawing on philosophical and civil rights traditions, he calls for a “noble discontent” that refuses to mirror idolatry with more idolatry, and instead centers human dignity and service! #TruthJusticeLove @kbla1580 @tavissmiley

When Donald Trump reaches for the sacred language of faith only to twist it into mockery, it reveals not merely a lapse in taste, but a deeper poverty of moral character! Religious language, at its best, is meant to uplift, to console, to call us to justice and compassion—not to be reduced to spectacle or scorn! To be a Christian is not to dwell on any plantation—neither the plantation of the Democratic Party nor that of the Republican Party! It is to stand free, rooted in a love that speaks truth to power, committed to justice wherever injustice may be found, and loyal not to party, but to principle! #TruthJusticeLove @tavissmiley @kbla1580

In these grim and dim times, we need moral courage and subtle analysis of the variety catastrophes facing us, including the illegal war against Iran, the brutal repressive Iranian regime, the genocide in Gaza, and the voices of Iranian diaspora! #TruthJusticeLove @annahita.m/revolution-without-end-the-unfinished-grief-of-1979-a-nations-struggle-for-freedom-at-home-and-b24af3e2028e" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">medium.com/@annahita.m/re… open.substack.com/pub/annahitama…

What often appears as ideological extremism in Iranian diaspora politics may be better understood as the psychological afterlife of revolution, prolonged exile, and decades of political powerlessness. Drawing on insights from clinical psychology and political theory, in this article, I explore how unresolved collective trauma and displacement shape political behavior in exile. In the absence of institutions capable of mediating trust, conflict, or collective mourning, anger circulates horizontally within communities and moral absolutism begins to substitute for political efficacy. My article examines how exile politics can sometimes reproduce the very authoritarian dynamics they seek to oppose. The argument is particularly relevant in the aftermath of the recent uprisings—widely considered the most violent protests in Iran since the revolution—which renewed global attention on the country while also exposing deep fractures within diaspora political discourse. We had a grand time wrestling with the great Black prophetic tradition. I salute my dear brother Eugene and my dear sister Jackie Rivers for bringing us together at Bishop Felton’s historic Mt. Airy Church of God in Christ! (Although I had to stop for the mayor’s strong words, but I return and continue my talk) @EugeneFRivers #TruthJusticeLove youtube.com/live/pS4iLqFk6…

In the midst of all the heartache and heartbreak, our resilience, our remembrance, our resistance, our reverence have not been wiped out—no fascism can do that! Terror, horror, hatred, oppression, and domination may be the dominant history of the species, but they are not the only history! There is always a response to that domination and hatred, and it lives in the dignity people carry even in the darkest conditions—the quiet refusal to be reduced, the insistence on love, the preservation of memory, and the courage to stand for one another! In that sense, dignity itself becomes a form of resistance, a testimony that even in the face of overwhelming injustice, something deeply human endures beyond the reach of any system! #TruthJusticeLove @ResetCritical Full interview: youtu.be/j7HVmPx__hI?si…

On Friday we honored the life and witness of Jesse Jackson Sr. a freedom fighter who reminded America that justice is what love looks like in public! He stood in the great prophetic tradition—telling the truth, lifting up the poor, and insisting that every child of God has dignity! His voice carried the cry of the marginalized and the hope of a more compassionate democracy! As we reflect today, may we remember that his legacy is not just in history but in the ongoing struggle for spiritual integrity, moral courage, and a love powerful enough to challenge injustice! We love you forever @RevJJackson! #TruthJusticeLove
