My brother (18-20 hcp, plays 5-6 18 hole rounds a summer max), literally does this when he gets into the woods / trees. He’ll simply take a 4 iron / hybrid, full swing it provided he has one, and deal with the consequences. No “punch out sideways,” no strategy, no thought of “how do I make 5 or 6 here.” Just hits it straight head. Directly thru. I’ve seen it work a lot. It’s maddening
