Here is something nobody told you when you bought your first crypto. The wallet protecting your assets was not built to last forever. It was built on a mathematical problem called Elliptic Curve Cryptography. ECC works because classical computers cannot solve it fast enough to be useful. Breaking a single private key would take longer than the age of the universe with the hardware that exists today. Quantum computers do not solve problems the way classical computers do. They run an entirely different class of algorithm. One called Shor’s Algorithm reduces that same ECC problem from billions of years down to hours. Possibly minutes. The encryption does not degrade slowly. It collapses. When that happens, three things become possible that are not possible today. Your wallet private key can be derived directly from your public key, which is already visible on-chain. Every transaction you have ever signed can be forged retroactively. And every address holding significant value becomes a target the moment a sufficiently powerful quantum computer exists. The part that should concern you most is not the future threat. It is what is already happening right now. Adversaries are recording encrypted blockchain data today with the explicit intention of decrypting it once quantum hardware catches up. This is called harvest now, decrypt later. The attack has already started. The decryption is just waiting on better hardware. This is the problem @qlabsofficial was built to solve.
