A lot of people are still looking at stablecoins mainly from the trading and yield angle.
But moves like this show where things are actually heading.
$USD1 being issued natively on @tempo instead of coming in as a wrapped asset is a pretty important distinction. Native issuance reduces a lot of the friction and liquidity fragmentation that usually comes with cross chain movement and CCIP integration makes the whole flow across ecosystems much smoother.
Feels like the bigger competition now is no longer just about who has the highest APY, but which stablecoin can realistically become the default currency for payments, settlements and eventually AI driven economies across chains.
