<삼성전자 노사의 타협을 간곡히 촉구합니다> 삼성전자 총파업 예고일이 눈 앞으로 다가왔습니다. 중앙노동위에서 대화 재개를 요청하여 사측은 수용하였으나, 노조는 사측 입장의 변화가 없다면 추가 대화할 이유가 없다고 합니다. 노사가 합의에 이르지 못하면 21일부터 총파업에 돌입한다고 하니 안타까움과 걱정을 금할 수 없습니다. 노사 양측이 조속히 대화를 재개하기를 간곡히 촉구합니다. 우리 경제에서 삼성전자의 중요성은 아무리 강조해도 지나치지 않습니다. 삼성전자는 국내 GDP 대비 매출 비중 12.5%, 고용 인원 12만 9천여명에 달하는 국가대표 기업입니다. 우리 국민 열명 중 한명이 주주인 국민기업이기도 합니다. 삼성전자의 실적과 주가는 460여만 주주를 비롯해 국민연금 등 각종 연기금을 통해 국민들의 삶에 직접 영향을 주고 있습니다. 특히, 반도체 산업은 우리나라의 거의 유일한 핵심 전략자산이며, 대한민국의 미래를 끌고 갈 독보적인 성장동력이기에 현 상황이 더욱 걱정스럽습니다. 반도체 산업은 투자의 “속도”와 “규모”로 경쟁하는 승자독식 산업입니다. 1~2년 단위로 공정을 혁신해야 하고, Fab 1개 건설에 60조원 이상의 대규모 투자가 이루어져야 생존할 수 있습니다. 경쟁국들은 강력한 정부지원과 과감한 투자를 바탕으로 반도체 시장에서 입지를 확대하고 있습니다. 경쟁력을 상실하는 순간 2등이 아니라 생존이 어렵게 되어 나락으로 떨어지게 됩니다. 이러한 상황에서 파업이 발생한다면 회복 불가능한 경제적 피해가 발생합니다. 공장 정지 시 하루 최대 1조원 정도의 생산 차질이 예상됩니다. 웨이퍼 가공에 5개월 이상 소요되고, 현재 가공중인 웨이퍼 전량이 손상된다면 최대 100조원의 피해가 예상된다고 합니다. 1,700여개의 협력업체의 피해는 상상조차 할 수 없습니다. 눈에 보이는 막대한 손실보다 더 우려되는 것은 우리 경제의 신뢰 훼손 등 무형의 국가적 손실입니다. 먼저, 글로벌 공급망에서 신뢰 저하가 불가피합니다. 주한미국상공회의소는 삼성전자에 생산차질이 발생한다면 한국이 구축해 온 글로벌 파트너로서의 위상이 훼손된다고 이미 경고했습니다. 외국 고객사의 생산시설 현지 이전 요구 압력도 거세질 것입니다. 우리의 소중한 일자리도 소득도 사라질 것입니다. 이번 사안의 중대성과 상상조차 하기 어려운 파급효과를 생각할 때, 어떠한 경우에도 파업만은 막아야 합니다. 산업부 장관으로서는 만약 파업이 발생한다면 긴급조정도 불가피하다고 생각합니다. 삼성전자 노사 관계자 여러분! 조속한 소통 재개를 간곡히 촉구합니다. 사측은 합당한 보상을 제시하고, 노측은 회사의 미래와 지속가능성을 해치지 않는 합리적인 배분을 요구하여 국가대표 기업인 삼성전자 노사가 국민들과 수많은 국내외 고객들, 그리고 투자자들의 간절한 기대에 부응해주실 것을 간곡히 요청드립니다.

NEWS: UK carrier Virgin Atlantic has brought forward its plans to equip its aircraft with @Starlink Wi-Fi. The original plan was to install Starlink in Q3 of this year, but the revised plan will see the airline's first aircraft with Starlink in May (next month). VA says the first of its aircraft to be equipped with Starlink will be an Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, and the first flight equipped with the system will operate between London Heathrow Airport and New York JFK Airport. Starlink can be installed in a fraction of the time it takes other internet systems to be installed, so the rollout for other aircraft should be relatively quick.

NEWS: Dutch regulators (RDW), which just approved @Tesla FSD (Supervised) in the Netherlands, have just issued an official statement: "Due to the continuous strict monitoring of the driver in the vehicle, the system is safer than other driver assistance systems. We have thoroughly researched and checked this system, more than a year and a half. The RDW has issued a type approval for Tesla's driver's assistance system, FSD Supervised. This driver's assistance system has been extensively researched and tested on our test track and on public roads for more than a half years. Safety is paramount for the RDW. The proper use of this driver's system makes a positive contribution to road safety." This approval from the RDW clears the path for approval in other European countries. Tesla owners in the Netherlands will be receiving FSD (Supervised) on their cars shortly. Amazing day!
