Six years ago, CEMC launched Cumberland Connect to bring world-class fiber internet to our members. Today, we're proud to serve over 45,000 subscribers. Happy anniversary, Cumberland Connect!
Cumberland Connect@GetCCFiber

Six years ago today, Cumberland Connect flipped the switch on our very first service zone in Stewart County. We were the new kid on the block, and a lot of people weren't sure what to make of a local internet provider taking on the big guys. Fast forward to today, and over 45,000 subscribers trust Cumberland Connect as their internet provider. As your local cooperative, we are proud to have built a fiber network that is owned by CEMC members and exists to serve only CEMC members. Here's something we're proud of: the price you pay today is the same price we launched with six years ago. We've never played the intro rate games or "gotcha" increases after the first year. We simply promised our subscribers a consistent, flat rate for their internet service — and we've kept that promise! Since then, we haven't stopped building even though our fiber network buildout is complete. We launched our brand-new Outdoor Wi-Fi service this year, and we have more exciting developments coming down the pipeline. We never stop working to improve our system to ensure you have the best experience for years to come. Happy birthday to us, and thank you all for being a part of our journey. We're just getting started!

5:00 a.m. Outage Update: High winds from the overnight storms have caused scattered outages throughout our five-county service area. The largest of which is currently in the Greenbrier/Springfield area, where a tree fell onto a pole and has taken out service for about 1,600 members. Crews are already onsite working to change out the pole, but it will be a few hours until the pole can be replaced and power can be restored for some members affected by this specific outage. In total, we currently have about 3,000 members without power, but our crews have already been working on repairs through the night. We will continue working until all members have been restored. Most outages are automatically detected by our system, so our crews are most likely already aware if you are without power. If you would like to report your outage, you can use the SmartHub app, or call or text OUT to 800-987-2362. View our interactive outage map at cemc.org/outagemap/. Crews are working to restore power as quickly as possible.

Last night’s storm caused widespread outages across our system, with outages peaking at around 14,000 members. Our crews worked all through the night to restore power as quickly and safely as possible. As of early this morning, fewer than 30 members remain without power. These remaining outages are isolated and involve heavier localized damage that requires specialized equipment or more extensive repairs, and we will continue working until every member is restored. Thank you for your patience and support as our crews responded throughout the night.

11:30 p.m. Outage Update: Our crews continue to make great progress, and they have reduced the number of affected members to about 1,700. We will continue working through the night until all members are restored. As restoration continues, the outages that remain will become more isolated across our system. That means our crews will move from repairs that restore large numbers of members at one time to smaller, more scattered outage locations. That can make progress seem slower, but please know our crews are continuing to work as quickly and safely as possible until every member is restored.

8:30 Outage Update: We are currently experiencing widespread outages following the storm, affecting about 14,000 members across our five-county territory. ❗️We know many members are also having trouble reaching our office by phone. At this time, our main 1-800 number is unavailable, but members can still reach us by calling our local number, (931) 645-2481. At times, calling this number could result in a dial tone if there is particularly high call volume at that moment, but if you are not able to get through, you can still report outages by texting OUT to (800) 987-2362 or online through SmartHub. Please keep in mind that many outages are automatically detected by our system, so your outage is likely already logged by our crews even if you are unable to get through by phone. Our crews are already responding to outages throughout all five counties and will continue working as quickly and safely as conditions allow. Thank you for your patience as we work to safely restore service.

10:00 p.m. Outage Update: Crews are working diligently to restore service to members affected by this evening’s storm. We are making great progress and have significantly reduced the number of affected members to about 5,600 across our five counties: Cheatham: 2,395 Montgomery: 528 Robertson: 476 Stewart: 385 Sumner: 1,789 We have all CEMC crews dispatched and working on restoring service, and additional contractors are either already onsite or currently heading in to assist. Crews are facing downed trees and lines, and at least one broken pole so far. While we are working to restore service as quickly as possible, crews must take extra care when working at night to ensure their own safety as well as our members. Unfortunately, we are still experiencing issues with our main 1-800 number, but members can still report outages by calling our local number, (931) 645-2481, or online via SmartHub. We apologize for the difficulty with our main office number, and our staff is working to get this resolved. We appreciate your patience while we work to get you all back up and running.
