The hands that had made the sun and stars were too small to reach the huge heads of the cattle. Upon this paradox, we might almost say upon this jest, all the literature of our faith is founded. — G.K. Chesterton chesterton.org/everlastingman/ via @chestertonsoc

@AnthonyEsolen So true…. I recall it with nostalgia , and fond memories. No brittle edges.

My family have long enjoyed the old (John Daly) What's My Line? show -- for healthy doses of what was once normality.
To be noticed: The ease and comfort with which it is permitted to members of each sex to express appreciation for the beauty of someone of the opposite sex. No one EVER appears to be embarrassed.
Likewise, if a very fat man is a contestant, it may well attract some comment, and again, there is no embarrassment.
Consider the frank physicality of so many old baseball nicknames: Fat Freddie (Fitzsimmons), The Schnozz (Ernie Lombardi), No-Neck (Walt Williams), Three Finger (Mordecai Brown), Dummy (Hoy). People were more comfortable in their skins. They had to be. Heck, the only thing my mother didn't like about going to visit my father's family, when they were first married, is that they still had the privy in the backyard. (It was still there when I was a kid, but not used anymore.)
Anyhow, you will get the impression, all the time, that men really liked to be around women and women really liked to be around men. We aren't talking about bed here. We're just talking about wholesome fun, among people who felt secure enough to flirt shamelessly while intending nothing by it but a bit of a laugh and a nice compliment. Arlene Francis was very happily married, but she'd never get a good-looking man go by without a big smile and a comment; and each sex treated CHILDREN of the other sex with a great deal of admiration and consideration.
Grace and good manners don't guarantee fun, but they sure do make it possible. Gracelessness and bad manners ruin things for everybody.

@RebeccaS757 @fr_petros It’s the PERCEPTION that is created by the Pope’s statement that will be used to “ bless unions”. Secular
world sees , spins it , it as same as blessing massage .There was no need for this lengthy statement explaining what was available to any individual .

@fr_petros Guys, he did not say bless same sex "marriages"- the individuals! So disappointed in your interpretation :(

@wordessence courtesy seems to have fled our Nation. You reveal more about yourself in that comment than criticism of Trump.
