The fancy heated Japanese toilet in my hotel plays bird sounds when I sit down, so now I feel like I’m pooping in a David Attenborough documentary.

I could make a long list of reasons why visiting Japan is so awesome, but number 1 is it’s one of the few countries in Asia where I can eat absolutely anything and not get food poisoning.

Call me negative, but I always sort hotel reviews lowest to highest. Booking sites bury the truth under 5-star spam. Real red flags? Repeated complaints about thin walls, trash internet, nasty breakfast, or low water pressure. Better to know before you book than suffer later.

@AnthonyEveryWhr Yeah, it sucks that you can't get lifetime titanium. There's less incentive for you to stay more with them rather than build status with another chain now.

Oh wow, thanks you just saved me money because I was trying to get the next level of lifetime, I used to do it consulting so I traveled a lot and then I tried to do my own little stupid channel for the last couple of years and I traveled more. But I feel like the points aren't worth what they used to be. This is my claim to fame though LOL

@AnthonyEveryWhr Still far away from getting any lifetime status. With Marriott you can only get lifetime platinum, not titanium. But lifetime titaniums do exist, if they got it from their SPG status when they merged with Marriott.

@AnthonyEveryWhr I've got Diamond with Hilton and Titanium with Marriott, so there's a lot of options in any big city.
