How much will Premier Ford's purchase and quick sale of a personal jet cost? We may never know because he is also trying to hide from Freedom of Information laws. He is ramming through a bill to do that, and threatening to skip committee stage - no public hearings, no detailed examination. We can't let this slide. Write to your nearest PC govt. MPP and tell them to stop that.

How the hell is everything so expensive when all we've done for 40+ years is give corporations the tax breaks they swore they needed to hire workers and lower prices?

PM Carney on forward guidance: "I promise you, I will never sugarcoat our challenges. Instead, I will talk with you directly and regularly about our plan, why we're doing what we're doing, what's working, what isn't, and what we're going to do next."

Doug Ford felt the heat on his jet, now let's turn up the heat for Freedom of Information. Don't let him skip public hearings on ditching FOI. Don't let he and his ministers hide from public scrutiny.

Just scored a suh-WHEET deal on Facebook Marketplace on a customized OPP van and a private jet from a guy in North Etobicoke. He even throw in some really nice land near the Niagara Escarpment.

🇪🇺| Europe will require all mobile phones to be sold with user-replaceable and longer-lasting batteries starting 2027. The regulation demands the availability of spare parts and manuals for 10 years to curb planned obsolescence. As per the USB-C ruling, Europe is a giant that can change markets to put European consumers’ needs first.

When public school is treated like a commodity to be optimized rather than a fundamental right, it’s a betrayal of the values of a system that should instead centre on students and their learning. ⬇️

Canada dentalcare program Canada disability benefit Canada groceries benefit All programs I benefit from that the Libs and NDP enacted. They LITERALLY are in my interest. Cons never propose programs like this.

@kim1785 @whittakertp Ford's changing the Freedom of Information Act so that his phone records are exempt from freedom of information requests. And he's making the new law retroactive to cover the period of the Greenbelt and other scandals. #onpoli

Doug Ford buys a $28.5M jet under pressure, then flips it weeks later? He’s just burning taxpayer money. Quick resale means discounted price, plus broker fees, setup, licensing, crew (all would’ve been under contract by now), insurance and operating costs. Real loss isn’t $2M-$5M … … it’s closer to $5–$10M all-in.

Now that the Premier is going to sell his new jet (there’s a lesson there folks, hold onto the receipt) how awkward it becomes for those who defended the purchase.

We spend more energy policing each other than we do challenging the systems that fail all of us. We need better education, cleaner air, real healthcare, and actual opportunity. Let's understand who is blocking us from those things and focus our energy there, instead of punching sideways and down.

Good Morning Ottawa! Over 10,000 years ago a body of water covered the City Of Ottawa called The Champlain Sea. Now its only remnants are the Ottawa and St. Lawrence Rivers, but sand dunes were left to remind us of its former existence, sand dunes that exist hidden in the forests of Slack Road. These dunes were a result of wind and water carrying sand left by a massive glacier and carried into the sea by glacial rivers. Once humans started to traverse these ancient sand dunes, evidence has appeared that native people who needed wood and game inhabited the area, and archeological artifacts have been recovered. Part of Ottawa’s 200th Anniversary History. Full story: ottawarewind.com/2016/10/11/ott…

Good morning! A photo of an important spot in Ottawa history! It was the location of Ottawa’s first pub, “Firth’s Tavern” in 1819. Thirsty travelers, fur traders, voyageurs and military personnel of the time all gathered at this new pub where beer and food could be had. Originally a log cabin structure, the Firth’s expanded their tavern operation to include a two storey hotel, stables and barn structures to accommodate the town’s growing population. No plaque marks the spot but still an important part of Ottawa’s 200th anniversary! Cheers! 🍻
