introducing Vaults: a new token standard by @drip__trade in the months leading up to bald bröthers landing on Hyperliquid, we knew we wanted to push jpegs forward with something new. DripTrade introduced us to a new token standard they had been experimenting with. Vaults were one of the core features. once we saw it, we knew it was perfect for the bröthers. huge credit to the tech they’ve built, pushing jpegs forward. vaulted NFTs are a new standard where NFTs are directly collateralized with underlying tokens. VAULTS imagine if an NFT wasn’t just art, but a vault. a vault that could hold any token in it. you can lock tokens inside an NFT. the only way to retrieve those tokens? burn the NFT. that means the value of the jpeg is boosted by the value of the vaulted tokens, and it stays there unless someone’s böld enough to destroy the art. imagine applying that to a specific sub-collection - say, the niqab cabal you could lock your community’s token into every Niqab. that does three things: - raises the floor of that sub-collection (each jpeg now holds value you can see on-chain) - aligns the value of the token and the NFT forever, unless someone burns their bröther to unlock it - provide a way for token founders to distribute their tokens to the right community/sub-community with surgical precision 👨‍⚕️ every bröthers NFT now has its own NAV (net asset value). any ERC20 or HYPE can be locked inside. this will kick off with @Ramen_HL & @ReverseUnitBias - $RUB going into a specific sub-collection chosen by the protocol, in this case the hooded sub-cabal is forming and all 79 of the jpegs will have the underlying $RUB asset. any founder with a vision can come in and work with a sub-collection, whether it’s a small cabal or the entirety of bald bröthers. each trait group is flexible, and ready to be built on. we’ve made sure there’s room for experimentation without asking for permission. theres more to the standard that will be released over time, but for now enjoy Vaults! ✨ baldiö ✨
