🏛️I had the honour to present our work with @diverse_ai , at a High-level policy dialogue at the EUI in Florence last week.
An intense, highly engaging, and thought-provoking 2 days spent discussing the theme: Empowering People in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Inclusion, Equity, Political Participation, and the Future of Democracy."
I presented our work with Diverse AI, where we’re using Community-Participatory Based Research methods to drive AI literacy, community feedback and inclusion in the development of our upcoming dataset for Gen AI.
We had top class presentations, and conversations from esteemed colleagues across Europe, coming from the European Commission and academia.
Driving further discourse, I’ve challenged and proposed the notion of redefining the way we’ve worked as humans in this current era of AI, where we need to think more about using the strengths of AI to drive positive change. Eg influencing populations through accurate information from LLMs, intentionally provided by well-meaning governments.
Thinking about the next level of skills, we probably haven’t tapped into yet is also top of mind for me, and considering redefining the term, democracy, in light of the new tech revolution.
Kudos to the amazing team at the Transnational School of Governance for spearheading this, including Ioannis and Daniel Innerarity.
