I think people don’t realize how inconsistent Irelia is without tree. If you don’t open with Stellacorn now you just run out of cards and are in top deck mode the entire game

I hope there is commentary on the goals of the bans, think everything is defensible, but I'd like to hear some thoughts on the details.

@Drisoth I’m pretty confident that all those bans needed to happen, and also I’ve seen people complaining about it BUT I think it’s great that they announced it now in hopes that people wouldn’t drop hundreds of dollars on those cards

I really like Living Legend as a format management tool. I like that you can see publicly, how much time roughly a deck has left, and there's a semi-objective way to ban broken things. It does make non-LL bannings feel much worse though.

I've been totally riftbound pilled lately, but I keep losing games to like, very dumb mistakes (But I learn something every game!) Looking for advice from my TGC homies: After a super long day of work, I find it SO HARD to lock in and concentrate and not make those mistakes. I don't have this problem w/ fighting games or league after a long day. Any tips or personal tricks on getting the focus back?

@JulezJP @MreMOEtional Yeah, honestly the harder part is after you develop a robust auto-pilot system, you then have to snap yourself OUT of autopilot before you punt. If you're not going to time / playing with friends, you can try just always pausing for ~5 seconds for every action.

Hah both of your advice was great. I think my biggest struggle is I’ve played commander w/ friends and the only constructed I’ve played is on mtg arena and a tonnnnnnn of LoR. I’m realizing there is so much of the game that was being played for me or how much I relied on my friend/ play group to work through interactions. I literally woke up today and realized ANOTHER misplay from yesterday lol. I had 5 Energy up, Rhasa on a battlefield and they used fight or flight to bounce my Rhasa and moved in with a unit. I had Arcane Shift in hand but my mind processed FoF as a Rebuke and I put the Rhasa in my hand instead of back to base and said that’s gg. 💀

@MreMOEtional @AikadoLoR Being serious I think it’s fine to say i think XYZ deck is high agency, and the field is weak at a small local, so I think it comes out better overall, or just to say i find some other deck much more enjoyable. As long as you’re making that choice on purpose, who am I to argue

We're going into only set 3 and there's already soooooo many legends in this game. Can't even imagine what it'll be like right before rotation end of next year. Insane amounts of options to play in this game. Let alone for best ofs at RQs

Lucian is a great deck, and tbf I beat the decks I meant to beat. But too much random stuff to lose to. I love playing the good deck that counters the most brought decks, but I just don’t think that’s a thing at regionals with these wide fields. I’d still bring Lucian to a grassroot $25k for example, just not to a regional.

My first FaB tournament I had to simultaneously explain to my opponent how it was my fist time playing in person and touching a FaB card so to please bare with me on learning the zones and not knowing all of their cards, and also explain to them that I know how to play and I deterministically killed them all by memorizing my deck.

Top 8ed a RTN while having to ask every opp how much life they start at.

Lost in semis, but got to my dinner plans with exactly 5 minutes to spare. Max EV obtained.

The further this goes the more people think I’m joking when I ask to read their format staple.

@SeffyrRB I assume its coming from trying to keep the quantity of metal cards given out under control, but I would prefer that to be handled by reducing the number of legends being released, rather than soft-rotating some.

@Drisoth Yeah, I am just super bummed that at some point the meta will revolve around which legends have metal cards and which don't.

Best of prizing is an incredible natural solution to people optimizing the fun out of the game, only thing I’d change would be giving a lesser version (prize wall) to the 2nd place also. Would want to see how things pan out with more legends before messing with stuff though.
