@camillarnold @RealCatMcGill @BBCOne Ooh, really interesting question! A good clinician would always provide a triage / pre-assessment as part of the process, which would help ascertain whether a full assessment would be appropriate and outline what a diagnosis (or not) could mean for you.

@IAmIronMan42522 @BBCOne We already work with an amazing, diverse group of autistic people (one of the world's biggest), all with their own accounts to share. Our current studies focus on 'non-traditional' autism and we aren't looking for more participants at the moment - but thanks for the interest!

Thank you for the compliment but you misunderstand me. My writing does nothing staying where it is. I’m seeking to submit it for research. I’m looking to participate in autism research myself. I’m not doing research. I am research. A primary source with firsthand experience. I am autistic. Isn’t there any way I can be of use?

I concur. Given the mass of data I’ve observed, women, minorities, over 21, and higher IQ have been under-diagnosed. jimirion.medium.com The last two articles explain from my diagnosis to present day. If my writing can be published/cited for research I would be grateful. I have a presentation I could pitch. No cost. It specifically targets the high-functioning label and IQ for over 21 age groups. I can do it virtually from the US. I live in Pennsylvania. On Thursday, I will be making my case to my care provider about potentially taking me under their wing for autism research & development. I have ideas such as a presentation program for awareness, several ways to boost diagnostics for undiagnosed, and I’m very articulate. At age 41, I am willing and able to plunge my talents into what is needed for making a big difference. Worldwide because autism isn’t localized. It is of all humanity.

@IAmIronMan42522 @BBCOne I agree diagnostics aren’t only problematic for women. In the research we’re undertaking, we’re looking at improving measures for everyone showing more subtle or nuanced signs. Historically, women, trans and NB people have unfairly borne the brunt of this.

@DrTeamCorvette , Not just women. Autism diagnostics are still behind the 8-ball and insufficient for passing muster. Ms. Colvert, I have writing on Medium that I encourage you to read. If reading all eight is too time-consuming, just read the most recent and following two: “When a Diagnosis Is Not Enough” “Knowledge Is Power” I could be helpful for collaboration.

@KnightonStar @BBCOne I do offer private assessments alongside my NHS work, and can do these remotely online if that works best for people.
