As disciples of Jesus, we are called to serve others. We are called to follow Jesus’ example — opening our hearts to everyone, with compassion for their pain, with understanding for their circumstances.

Once a year on the fifth Sunday of Lent, the Veil of Veronica is displayed in St. Peter's Basilica. On Sunday, March 22, many people gathered in the Basilica to view the cloth which tradition holds bears the image of Christ’s face, left when Veronica wiped Him on the way to Calvary.

Mary, Mother who carried Christ within you, intercede for us that we may grow in intimate union with your Son. May our prayers, sacrifices, and acts of charity within this season of Lent draw us closer to His Sacred Heart. Teach us to live in communion with Him daily. Amen🙏🏽

Jesus’ question for Martha is also for us — do we believe that we can bring life out of death? Do we believe in the power of his love? Let us ask God to increase our faith, to help us when we doubt and when we get discouraged. Let us ask him to help us to believe!
