In line with the vision to decongest major yards, Sambalpur Division of @EastCoastRail commissioned Sambalpur station yard remodeling work on 14.08.2025 . This work was long awaited for commissioning. The Pre Pre NI (13 days), Pre NI (2 days) and NI(6 days) was planned after obtaining minor CRS sanction. Salient features of work are: 1) Total 282 nos of routes with Kyosan make EI comprising 88 points, 114 TC and 38 signals 2) The station is commissioned for 8 running lines with augmentation of 3 additional platform lines with associated assets including coach watering facility 3) New ART and ARME line with direct despatch and reception facilities. 4) One additional Coach examination pit line and additional facilities for automatic car washing plant line. 5) 6.1 Tkm OHE laid with all line separate isolation facilities. 6) FOB extension with lift facility.
