@CourtenayTurner Maybe the relevance wasn't clear: We lack functioning systems for collective action on investigation by design. As people discover this, they apply their limited tool sets haphazardly. This is understandablez and predictable, suffering both in flaws you note and others.

@EduEngineer I understand why you say that, but it's actually not relevant to my point—which was about methodology. I'm not saying people cant speculate. They can and it's inevitable that they will. But when they do the line should be made clear between what's inference and what's fact.

I’ve been encountering this more and more lately, especially among people exploring many of the same institutions, symbols, and historical currents I investigate. I understand the temptation to play “pin the tail on the donkey”—to locate one hidden lineage, one shadowy cabal, or one master explanation that makes every association click into place. But the truth is often more complicated, more structural, and ultimately more damning. Totalizing pattern-matching does not expose the real threats; it obscures them and makes serious investigative work easier to dismiss. One of the great tragedies of the post-2020 “truth” sphere is that real investigative work is continually discredited by intellectually lazy methodology: associative pattern-matching, sweeping genealogies, and absolute certainty unsupported by evidentiary discipline. Actual conspiracies exist. They should be investigated and exposed. But too much of this space has become salacious containment fodder—navel-gazing that rewards people with the feeling of possessing secret knowledge while drawing them into a self-appointed mystery school where rigor is treated as blindness and every demand for evidence is dismissed as naïveté. It does not help that the algorithmic incentives often reward exactly this behavior—sometimes handsomely. The most sweeping, ominous, and emotionally charged claims travel furthest, and attention can translate into subscriptions, donations, advertising revenue, paid communities, and other forms of monetization. Precision is slow, qualified, and often less sensational; spectacle is fast, absolute, and profitable. Even without deliberate dishonesty, the incentive structure selects for those who keep their audiences inside an endless cycle of revelation. Many people entered this sphere because they discovered they had genuinely been misled. That made them especially vulnerable to a new epistemic trap: the “troother” culture that replaces institutional authority with charismatic certainty, documented inquiry with semiotic pattern-matching, and scholarship with initiation. It is tragic because whatever truth may exist becomes easier to dismiss. Serious investigative work requires distinctions between fact, inference, hypothesis, and speculation. Without that discipline, the search for hidden truth becomes another mechanism of containment disguised as initiation.

One of the reasons I started avoiding the libertarian label is the number of woo technolibertarians who have shrines of Peter Thiel in their homes, and wonder aloud why all the women Epstein abused can’t just practice gratitude.

@FountainheadFm Hey, I love people who love freedom. But let's jump to the Koch brothers endgame: the leadership is controlled opp.

@EduEngineer I don't know any actual libertarians who have shrines to Thiel. You obviously only know fake libertarians.

The brother of Trump’s former Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has been charged after police say he tried to lure children as young as 9 into his Waikiki hotel room by offering them money and gum. The children refused, and so he asked for their names and wrote them down in a notebook before walking away. 55-year-old Batarti Gabbard was later arrested and charged with second-degree custodial interference. This incident was after numerous acts of him acting erratic, like giving his car away to a homeless person and having delusions of being a rockstar. He’s currently under psychiatric hold. This is an ongoing report. #trump #crime #news #hawaii #politics

If you believe the Hare Krishna cult to be organic, consider that its leader's family was one of the wealthiest in the world, and built this palace nearly 200 years ago in the EIC's backyard in Calcutta. #MarblePalace

@EduEngineer @thedukereport Sad that Tulsi has to have a pervert in her family. He deserves ZERO breaks. If proven guilty he needs to be sent to prison for a very long time. This in no way changes my views on Tulsi. She is a hero for her bravery and I hope she runs for the presidency after TRUMP.

Among the many interesting things in @EduEngineer’s backstory on Tulsi’s brother Batarti Gabbard’s arrest… lawyer & Jeffrey Epstein associate Alan Dershowitz represented “one of the child rapists involved at ISKCON at a high level” Keithe Ham open.substack.com/pub/roundingth…

Tulsi Gabbards brother, Batarti Gabbard, has been arrested for attempting to lure and kidnap multiple children as young as 9 years old by offering them money and candy to follow him to his hotel room. They are claiming he has "mental issues."

@ShadowofEzra and there you have it, that’s why Tulsi flipped so quickly once in office. Blackmail is their specialty.
