@RachelK01840150 Hello! Thank you – to clarify, *I'd* be happy to explore that, but realise most likely he would, as you say, go and form a proper family. I'd be sad but I'd be happy for him! Not much else I could do. Can't force him to stick around! But I'd want to explore all options for sure

@EllenCScott "I’m 33 and happily married – this is why I don’t want children" = fine. "In November, I married a wonderful man whom I adore ... I am fortunate that he is not especially interested in having children, but I’ve said that if he changes his mind, I’d be happy to explore a nonmonogamous option in which he has a child with another woman while maintaining our marriage" = batshit crazy and impossible. If your nice husband wants children, then you have to let him go and form a proper family with a woman who wants the same things as him. archive.is/zyKqx

This article is well worth making some time to read over the weekend. The way America gleefully unleashed the scourge of sports betting on its people... Jaw dropping stuff.

Last year, The Atlantic gave me $10K to gamble with. What started as a journalistic gimmick turned into something more... unnerving. My cover story on the online betting boom warping sports, culture, politics, and the psyches of millions of young men: theatlantic.com/magazine/2026/…

I wanted to talk to experts to explore why this incident has such a hold on me and get advice on how to move forward. But more than that, I wanted to share this so that anyone else who’s still affected by a friendship breakup from years ago knows they’re not alone.

Hi I wrote something very personal and I am embarrassed BUT I think you should read it I believe this is a type of shame that’s important to talk about. I had a bad friendship breakup in my teens, and almost 20 years later I can still feel its impact rippling through my life.

Also I remember when I moved to Tooting my parents said OOH DANGEROUS which I assume must be a hangover from the old days of Tooting? It was totally fine

seeing some people questioning credentials here so just to chip in: I was born and raised in Enfield (then went to Manchester for uni, then back to different areas of London) and if anything it now seems to be safer. I keep encountering people CHOOSING to live there
Rebecca Reid@RebeccaCNReid

I live in the same area of London where I grew up in the nineties/ noughties. It feels equally as safe as it ever did - there is absolutely some crime, but fundamentally pretty safe. The only major change is that I cannot afford anywhere near as much house as my parents could.

Immense respect to @EllenCScott for pulling back the curtain on high-functioning depression. Her honesty reminds us that even the most outwardly successful and affable among us can be struggling silently. Vulnerable, powerful, necessary 💚 stylist.co.uk/health/mental-…
