YOU HAVE OUR RESPECT, CASEMIRO! When anyone tells you Casemiro is overrated, just show them this picture. It was the last minute of the game, Casemiro had scored the first goal, he ran throughout the entire match, and in the final play, he gave us a brilliant defensive save to prevent Brentford's equalizer. And he celebrated with all the Manchester United fans. At 34 years old, Casemiro was the best player in Manchester United's victory, which secured third place in the Premier League. He knows he'll be leaving at the end of the season; he could be saving himself for the World Cup, but he's giving his all for Manchester United. THIS IS WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A TRUE LEGEND. #casemiro #football #futbol

Casemiro looked visibly emotional at full-time, wiping away tears 💔
You can see how much the club means to him and the love from United fans is mutual 🔴

Lavender is not pruned to keep it neat. It is pruned to keep it alive.
The lavender bush that turns woody at the base with flowers only at the top is not “old” — it has been pruned incorrectly… or not pruned at all.
❌ The fatal rule
Lavender will not regenerate from old wood.
If you cut into the brown, woody base — below the green growth — that part is finished. No new shoots will emerge. It stays bare and lifeless.
This is why lavender becomes woody and splits open over time:
each poor cut pushes the green growth higher, until the base is completely exposed.
Once the base is fully woody, the plant cannot be restored.
✂️ The correct cut
Always cut only in the green, flexible growth — never into hard wood.
Cut 2–3 cm above a leaf pair or small side shoot. That point becomes the new growing tip.
One simple rule:
If it bends and shows green → safe
If it is stiff and brown → don’t cut there
Avoid cutting straight across like a hedge — lavender needs selective cuts, not shearing.
📅 When to prune
Main prune: Immediately after flowering
→ Cut back about one third of the current season’s growth
Second light trim: Late season (before cold weather)
→ Shape gently, stay in green zone
Do not prune late into the cold season — new soft growth will be damaged.
Never prune in wet or cold conditions.
🌱 How much to take
For a healthy plant:
Shorten stems by about one third, always leaving green growth below the cut.
Each correct cut encourages branching — more branches mean more flowers next season.
⚠️ If the plant is already woody
Do not attempt a hard cut to the base — lavender cannot regenerate like that.
Instead:
Gradually reduce height over 2–3 seasons
Each time, cut back to the lowest green growth available
This slowly lowers the plant and improves shape.
If the base is completely woody with no green — replacement is the only solution.
🌸 Harvesting as pruning
The healthiest lavender is regularly harvested.
Cutting stems for drying or fragrance acts as continuous pruning.
Frequent light harvesting keeps the plant compact and delays woodiness.
🌿 The ideal shape
A well-managed lavender plant forms a low, rounded mound.
Light reaches all sides
Growth stays dense from top to base
Avoid tall, leggy shapes:
they shade the base, causing leaf drop and woody stems.
⚠️ The common mistake
Lavender is either:
Ignored → becomes woody and splits
Cut too hard → dies back permanently
The balance is simple:
cut often, but never too deep
Ten minutes of careful pruning after flowering can keep a lavender plant productive for many years. ✂️
