On April 16, 2026, the EPFO, in collaboration with the ILO-India, hosted a Preparatory National Workshop on Advancing Social Security Protection for Indian Migrant Workers in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Countries chaired by CPFC Sh. Ramesh Krishnamurthi. Key attendees included Ms. Michiko Miyamoto (Country Director, ILO), Mr. P.S. Gangadhar (JS, MEA), Senior officers of MoL&E and EPFO. The workshop focused on establishing a robust mechanism for data exchange and administrative cooperation initially with Oman and later with other GCC countries to support Indian migrant workers for accessing social security protection.
