For a long time I believed humans existed to glorify God As a worship pastor, this idea was central to my identity - I felt I was helping people fulfill their purpose! But when I tried to teach this idea, I struggled to make a compelling case from the Bible 🧵

The first thing Jesus would do at a Pride parade—is eat with everyone there. The first thing Jesus would do on a refugee caravan—is feed everyone there. The first thing Jesus would do at a religious meeting, is leave to go back to the parade and the caravan. Follow him.

Remember, today has an assignment. So, let's do that well. But don't try to also cram in tomorrow's assignment and steal today's joy. One day at a time. Hold fast to the joy in the journey.

I’ve begged God to give me answers … but I’m realizing instead of answers, He’s given me Himself. A way to come straight to Him, the One who already has it all figured out. The One who reminds me I don’t have to have His answers to have His comfort.

Jesus didn’t say, “pretend to be perfect.” He said, “come to me, all you who are weary & burdened.” 🙏🏼

God’s love for us is fiercely tender and He will go to great lengths to protect us, provide for us, and put us in positions that allow us to grow. We may not understand it. We may not like it. But we can rest in the absolute assurance of His love.
