Johnson & Johnson to invest $1bn in Pennsylvania cell therapy facility Part of a broader $55bn US expansion to scale manufacturing and R&D Johnson & Johnson will invest $1bn to build a next-generation cell therapy facility in Lower Gwynedd, Pennsylvania. The site will manufacture treatments for cancer, immune-mediated and neurological diseases, expanding US capacity for complex biologics. The project, supported by the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development, is expected to create more than 500 jobs by 2038. It forms part of J&J’s wider $55bn US expansion aimed at strengthening advanced manufacturing and research operations domestically. The investment reflects a broader push by global drugmakers to increase domestic production of high-value cell and gene therapies as  demand for complex biologic treatments rises.
