Update 4/28/26 4:30 p.m. The scene is clear and the road is open again in all directions.

4/28/26 3 p.m.: Due to a crash investigation, southbound traffic is closed on Timberline Rd. at Caribou Dr. A short section of northbound traffic on Timberline Rd. is single-lane, between Milestone Dr. to Harmony Dr. Please pay careful attention to altered traffic patterns around the crash sight, slow down, and give ample clearance to resources on scene. 04/27/2026 4:20 p.m.: At 3:19 p.m. today, Fort Collins Police Services received reports of shots fired near Rutgers Ave. and Vassar Ave. Officers located the suspect vehicle at 3:50 p.m. and conducted a high-risk traffic stop in a parking lot at 3524 S. College Ave. This resulted in a heavy police presence and several businesses being briefly locked down. Police have identified multiple suspects and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

We are currently looking for Linda. Last seen possibly wearing a Grateful Dead shirt, Broncos shirt or gray sweatshirt. Also believed to have a multicolored backpack. Last seen in the area of Prospect/Overland Trl. Anyone with info on her whereabouts is asked to call police.

📷 Found: One suspiciously cute suspect 📷 This girl was located inside our parking lot this morning—no badge, no credentials, just a happy girl who wanted to greet our patrol officers at their shift briefing. She’s safe, very friendly, and currently refusing to answer any questions without snacks. NOCO Humane is on the way to pick her up, but if this is your dog, give them a call to get her home (970) 226-3647.

Update: 04/13/26 4:35 p.m.: The crash at Prospect Road and Shields Street has been cleared and traffic is able to resume through the intersection.

Update 4/13/26 4 p.m.: First responders have cleared the area and the Spring Creek Trail is open.

4/13/26 3 p.m. The intersection of Prospect Road and Shields Street is closed to westbound, southbound, and northbound traffic due to a crash. Eastbound traffic is moving through the area. Alternate routes will be required. We will advise when the roadway is open again. #FCTrip @fortcollinsgov

4/13/26 3 p.m. The Spring Creek Trail is closed from the Robertson Street access to Lemay Road while officers assist medical teams with an individual who experienced a medical event on the trail. We will advise when the trail is open again.

04/09/26 4:50 p.m. MISSING JUVENILE We are asking for the public’s help locating a missing 14-year-old white male, Nicholas, who was last seen around 8:20 a.m. on April 8, leaving the 2700 block of Exmoor Ln. He is approximately 5’7”, 130 lbs., with brown eyes and brown hair that has been shaved. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and hoodie, and black pants.
