The Boxingscene writers that got let go were a great group of writers. I enjoyed their work. I will subscribe to substacks and be more willing to pay than in the past. I hate paying for things but I want to read good writing about a sport I love (not press release merchants).

If Ebola becomes a pandemic, it will be in no small part because millions of people now view public health measures as oppression rather than the most basic infrastructure of a functioning and sustainable civilization.

They oppose the new bill because they know it will advantage Zuffa over them. And Zuffa supports it because they wrote it to give themselves an advantage. No major promoter wants to help the sport, they want to help themselves. Any bill that did would be opposed by all of them.

There are days when I miss being an editor and I particularly loved writing headlines. Whoever did this, I hope they took the rest of the day off.

Tris is simply one of the best in the biz. He is a WRITER not just a reporter or farmer of rumors and press releases. He is a throwback to a time when the #boxing world featured scribes and reporters who were the most accomplished guys working, and meaningful investigative journalism and analysis dwarfed fanboying and bootlicking. Subscribe as i did if you still care about truth and educated opinions ... his voice is needed.

This goes to what I've been saying when folks talk about Netflix and boxing. They want events — comedy roasts, circus-atmosphere fights — so that people stay subscribed after finishing their favorite shows. Don't expect Netflix to get into a regular boxing series.
